  • Contact the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, or Secretary of the Agency of Human Services and tell them that you support insurance coverage for hearing aids in Vermont.
  • Contact your legislators (both senators and representatives) and tell them that you would like this bill to begin receiving testimony/support and why. If you already have good relations with them, so much the better! You can find out who your legislators are at: legislature.vermont.gov/people

When writing to a legislator or elected official, here are some things to remember:

  • Always give your name and the town where you live, especially if you are a constituent of theirs. They want to hear from you!
  • Make your request clear. In this case, we want Hearing Aid legislation (H.266 specifically) passed.
  • Share your own story.
  • If you don't hear back, you can nudge them. They should listen to you. You are a voter! You can find out who your legislators are at: legislature.vermont.gov/people
  • It is helpful to contact all of your legislators, no matter their involvement currently with the bill. If all goes well, they will see it sometime this session. We need to convince them that this is a priority!
