Objective
Work within a team to educate consumer and organizational audiences through humorous theatrical performances. Our most popular program provides information about preventing and resolving Medicare error, fraud and abuse, identity theft and other related consumer issues.
Qualifications
- Volunteers willing to learn about the Medicare and Medicaid programs and have a background in education, acting, and/or advocacy
- Ability to memorize scripts and act out a variety of roles in a single performance
- Comfortable presenting to groups
- Enjoy working within a team
- Willing to travel within Vermont, provide own transportation and/or carpool
- Ability to have fun!
Responsibilities
- Attendance at training sessions and rehearsals
- Assist Vermont SMP staff to identify appropriate sites and groups for presentations
- Commitment to present a minimum of 7 performances in 12 months
- Communicate by email with Vermont SMP staff, the local coordinator and team members
Training
- Completion of SMP Volunteer Foundations training
- Attend local SMP orientation and job specific training
- Attend available refresher trainings and program rehearsals as scheduled
Note: Initial training/rehearsals can be intensive.
Supervision
- Will be managed by the VT SMP Local Coordinator
