COVE (The Community of Vermont Elders) hopes your organization will join us in our mission to work for the dignity, security and well being of Vermont’s elders. For more than 30 years we have advocated and educated about issues affecting Vermont elders and we pride ourselves on developing a legislative agenda gleaned from our constituents’ concerns. We provide a daily presence at the State House during the Legislative Session and monitor all bills directly affecting our organizational and individual members’ concerns. In 2002, COVE finished work on a Mental Health grant by providing educational workshops throughout Vermont on Dementia, Depression, Abuse of Substances and Medication Mismanagement; a grant by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Atlantic Philanthropies to improve long-term care by addressing the training and support needs of direct care workers; we have also worked to reduce elder abuse and exploitation.
Currently, COVE is working with the Administration on Aging to educate Vermonters about Medicare errors and waste. COVE educates Vermonters about state government and how to communicate with the State’s Legislators. COVE offers a workshop on kinship care, in partnership with the Kinship Advocacy Network and its local Kinship Information Naviagation partners. COVE locates projects that are well-suited to the needs and ideals of Vermont elders.
To support our efforts, please print and complete the membership invoice below. Select the appropriate organizational payment category as described on the invoice and complete with your Organization’s name, address and contact information. Please provide your e-mail address.
