COVE (The Community of Vermont Elders) hopes your business will join us in our mission to work for the dignity, security and well being of Vermont’s Senior Citizens! Since 1981, COVE has provided advocacy and education about issues that affect Vermont’s elders. We pride ourselves on developing a legislative agenda gleaned from our constituent’s concerns. While we are well known in the aging networks and the State House, few in the business community really know who we are and how we work.

We have a long history of success on a wide vairety of issues ranging from preventing elder abuse and age discrimination to ensuring pharmaceutical assistance for seniors and expanding critical fuel assistance during Vermont’s cold winters. COVE also sponsors a host of programs and education initiatives aimed at empowering our older citizens with information and tools that they can use to protect themselves from exploitation and to further advocate for their own needs. To become better acquainted with our work, please review examples of the programs and activities that are available on this website.

While it takes a lot of energy and creativity to carry out this work, it also requires support from the Vermont community. COVE staff would like to tell you more and enlist your suppport in pursuing our mission through:

  • Making resources, education, information and support services - key to successfully aging - broadly available;
  • Informing public policy decidions and ensuring that older Vermonters have a voice on issues affecting them and their families;
  • Working to make quality health care accessible to all residents.
