Vermont SMP, a Medicare error and fraud education and resolution program has several interesting programs that we would like to share with you. Please review the information below. When Healing Hands Harm – A presentation emphasizing the need to increase awareness of prescription drug diversion so that you can help us detect and prevent further incidences of use and abuse of yourself, friends and family members. This film features interviews with Vermonters who have been involved with investigations through the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud and Residential Abuse Unit. An ideal staff and caregiver training! 30 minutes or 1 hour presentation

Medicare Fraud Bingo – This is a more enjoyable way to learn about and discuss Medicare details, as well as, error, fraud and abuse. Mimicking a real Bingo game. Win prizes!! 30 – 45 minutes

Vermont SMP offers general program specific presentations, including: Understanding Your Medicare Summary Notice or Vermont SMP and Medicare Error, Fraud and Abuse. Each presentation is 30 minutes.

The COVE Savvy Seniors – A team of senior volunteers will provide comical performances about issues that touch all of us: healthcare fraud and errors, identity theft, telemarketing and mail fraud, drug diversion and medication management. The Savvy Senior actors role play to demonstrate ways consumers can protect themselves from being targets of fraud, as in how to handle suspicious phone calls or telemarketing inquiries.
