Vermont SMP Presentations Available

As a Medicare error and fraud education and resolution program we have several interesting programs that we would like to share with you. Please review the information below. We offer these programs, covering a variety of interesting educational topics. We would like the opportunity to share our materials and provide you with valuable resource information. Medicare Jeopardy - Learn and discuss issues related to Medicare error, fraud and abuse. Participants receive a short presentation prior to playing the game to help cover important points and topics. Participants play this game similarly to the televised version of Jeopardy and can win prizes. 45 - 60 minutes! NEJeopardy2

Medicare Minute - SMP has partnered with the Medicare Rights Center to offer Medicare and fraud prevention presentations. Each month a new topic will be covered to provide participants with the most current information available. 20 - 30 minutes.

When Healing Hands Harm – A presentation emphasizing the need to increase awareness of prescription drug diversion so that you can help us detect and prevent further incidences of use and abuse of yourself, friends and family members. This film features interviews with Vermonters who have been involved with investigations through the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud and Residential Abuse Unit. An ideal staff training too! 30 minutes or 1 hour presentation

Medicare Fraud Bingo – This is a more enjoyable way to learn about and discuss Medicare details, as well as, error, fraud and abuse. Prizes! 30 – 45 minutes

The COVE Savvy Seniors – A team of senior volunteers will provide comical performances about issues that touch all of us: healthcare fraud and errors, identity theft, telemarketing and mail fraud, drug diversion and medication management. The Savvy Senior actors role play to demonstrate ways consumers can protect themselves from being targets of fraud, as in how to handle suspicious phone calls of telemarketing inquiries.
